This previous Saturday, the third Diamonds Café Night was held at the new venue, The Satrosphere Centre. It was a great venue and there must have been a lot of effort put in to it by the Diamond Scotland Volunteers. I had not been at the last two events and was new to Diamonds. The food, activities, talk and worship were amazing and I enjoyed meeting a lot of other girls my age.
I got a warm and friendly welcome at the entrance by the leaders. The decorations were really pretty and I really enjoyed taking part in some of the activities with my friends, like thumb printing trees and designing our own mirrors. I had great fun meeting new people from different places like Fraserburgh and Edinburgh! It was a really friendly environment.
The talk topic was on how we were all uniquely made and we learnt some amazing facts about the abilities of our bodies. God has given us different gifts, talents and abilities that we should use to give him glory. So, we looked at Psalm 139, where in verse 4 you will find these words – “I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.”

God our creator made us differently, specially… uniquely. I learnt that if I looked at myself and saw myself as rubbish than I was calling Gods work rubbish, and that was not true. God is good, and never makes anything that is not perfect – any ‘imperfections’ that I may have were meant to be there – carefully planned before I was even born- they made me Unique!
After the talk the worship band came up and we had a great time singing with them. Afterwards we had opportunities to chat to the leaders and we were given yummy goody bags!
I would really recommend you to give Diamonds a go. It is a great experience and a way to meet lots of new friends and learn more about God, whether you consider yourself a Christian or not. The activities are really fun, the food is amazing and the talks are really helpful.
The next event is 6th June at Satrosphere. Please come and bring friends too!
