Last Saturday, some of the Diamond Scotland Volunteers met up at Sheddocksley Baptist Church for the day. Not only did we spend the time looking back over the last two events, but we also dreamt for the future of Diamonds. It was a great opportunity to thank God for what has gone and get His perspective and hope for what is to come. Whilst we were gathered together (over some phenomenal cakes and nibbles), we came up with copious initiatives and plans for how we can grow as a charity. The suggestions ranged from establishing mentoring schemes to running worship workshops, at the same time as designing a clothing line or organising weekend-long conferences. These are just a few of the amazing ideas that were discussed and now we are even more excited for what God has in store for us all in Diamonds.
We were also able to organise our next event on February 28th. After having previously explored ‘Always Loved’ and ‘Never Forgotten’, following in the theme of Psalm 139, the next evening is ‘Uniquely Made’. The plan for games, arts and crafts, conversation topics, worship and goody bags has been hatched and it is going to be an epic evening. In addition to all of these aspects of the event, we are also moving to a new venue! The larger capacity will mean we can have even more people getting involved with Diamonds and it will facilitate many more of the ideas we have dreamt up.
All in all it was a brilliant day. It was such a wonderful occasion to spend the day together and chat about all-things-Diamonds. There are glorious things in store for Diamonds Scotland and it’s safe to say I’m not the only one awaiting these developments with great joy. Rachel Bryson
